Outstanding views of St Michael’s Mount, the Lizard Peninsula and Land’s End
Marazion is a civil parish and town, on the shore of Mount’s Bay. It is 2 miles east of Penzance and the tidal island of St Michael’s Mount is half-a-mile offshore. At low water a causeway links it to the town and at high water passenger boats carry visitors between Marazion and St Michael’s Mount. Marazion is a tourist resort with an active community of artists who produce and sell paintings and pottery in the town’s art galleries. There is a primary school, doctor’s surgery and a number of restaurants, cafes and galleries. There is a huge mix of houses in Marazion from beach front apartments to colossal properties with amazing views.

DownloadMarazion sits about 3 miles east of Penzance along the coast, with fairly frequent bus links but no railway station of its own.
Bus
Marazion is served by service 2/2A, running between Penzance, Marazion, Porthleven and Helston. This route was revised in February 2026 to give a half-hourly service between Penzance and Marazion (Monday–Saturday), with a new Sunday service also introduced. Most journeys connect through to service 3 (Helston–Penryn–Falmouth), making it straightforward to continue further east. As with the rest of the county, timetables and live disruption updates are managed through the Transport for Cornwall app and website.
Rail
There's no station in Marazion - the nearest is Penzance, about 3 miles west, the terminus of the Great Western line from London Paddington (also served by the Night Riviera sleeper). St Erth station, a little further north, is another option and sits on the branch line to St Ives.
Road
Marazion lies just off the A30, Cornwall's main west–east artery, making it an easy stop for drivers heading to or from Penzance and Land's End.
Tides and St Michael's Mount
Worth noting locally: the causeway to St Michael's Mount is only walkable at low tide - at high tide, a small passenger ferry runs instead during the season.
