A quintessential Cornish fishing village
Set on the edge of Mount’s Bay, Mousehole commands spectacular views over Mounts Bay and St Michael’s Mount. It is easy to spend a few hours simply wandering around the tiny streets. There are plenty of places to eat in Mousehole with a variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants. There are also galleries and craft shop many selling the work of local artists. There is a small sandy beach by the harbour at Mousehole a pebble and stone beach on the Newlyn side of the village (which also has rustic open air sea filled swimming pool) and a smaller stone beach on the other side. There is a very popular primary school and good bus links. Houses in Mousehole vary from approx. £150,000 to £2 million.

Bus
Mousehole is served by service 6 (Penzance–Mousehole via Newlyn), operated by Go Cornwall Bus, running roughly hourly throughout the day, seven days a week. The route and timetable were revised in 2026 to also serve West Cornwall Hospital, and Sunday/Bank Holiday journeys now run slightly earlier throughout the day. Worth flagging: there's been some local commentary about capacity and routing changes on this service over the past year, including reports around February 2026 of the bus no longer terminating at Mousehole Harbour itself - so it's worth double-checking the current route/stops on the Transport for Cornwall app before relying on it, especially around the harbourside.
Road
Mousehole is reached via a narrow coast road from Newlyn/Penzance - parking in the village itself is very limited, especially in summer, so many visitors park in Newlyn or Penzance and walk or bus in.
Rail
No station in Mousehole - nearest is Penzance, about 2.5 miles away, on the Great Western main line from London Paddington.
Boat
There's a history of informal ferry/boat travel between Mousehole, Newlyn and Penzance around Mount's Bay, though this is weather-dependent and not a scheduled public service.
Given the recent service changes, this is one where we suggest checking Transport for Cornwall directly before a visit.
